Ingredients
- 1 Whole loaf of bread (uncut)
- Mint chutney, tomato chutney (see the recipes at the end of this book)
- 100 Grams Butter
- Tomato sauce (as needed)
- 2 Tablespoons Chopped coriander leaves
Instructions
- Buy a whole, uncut loaf of bread, put it in a polythene bag, seal well, and place it in the freezer compartment of the fridge for 1/2 hour.
- After 1/2 hour, take it out and slice it lengthwise into thin, long slices with a sharp knife.
- Trim the crusts off the bread pieces.
- Place the first bread slice on a chapati board and roll it gently with a chapati rolling pin.
- Spread a little butter on top of it.
- Spread a little of the thick mint chutney over the buttered part, place another slice on top, butter it, and spread a little tomato chutney.
- Starting from one corner (the corner of the wide side), roll both slices together tightly like rolling up a mat.
- Once all the slices have been done this way, put them in a polythene/plastic cover, seal well, and place in the freezer for 1/2 hour.
- Once slightly firmed up, slice into round pieces with a sharp knife and serve attractively.
- Note: instead of rolling it up, the slices can also be layered one on top of another and served as a three-color sandwich. At bakery shops, if you ask before the bread is sliced, they'll cut it lengthwise like this for you, to your preference.
