Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Dried popcorn kernels
- 1/4 Teaspoon Fine salt
- a small amount Black salt powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Garam masala powder
- 2 Tablespoons Oil
- 1 pinch Turmeric powder
Instructions
- Heat one tablespoon of oil in a wide, large pan.
- Once the oil is nicely hot, lower the flame well, add the required amount of the powdered spices and a handful of the corn kernels, cover with a lid that fits the pan's top snugly, and raise the flame slightly.
- Once the kernels have popped and the sound has died down, remove the lid and tip them into another bowl.
- Pop the rest of the kernels this way.
- Store in an airtight jar with a lid and serve.
- Note: (1) use only the kernels sold specifically for making popcorn -- using seed corn won't turn out well. (2) Don't add more than a handful at a time; a handful, once popped, is enough to fill the pan.
